VICE PRESIDENT - NURSING WAR & HMH

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide a framework for planning, directing, coordinating, providing, and improving health care services that are responsive to community and patient needs and that improve patient health outcomes. This position directs the management of departments within the Nursing Clinical Division. Provides leadership and direction, in accordance with organizational standards, procedures and goals. Actively participates in the hospital PI process. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates delivery of nursing care throughout the acute care setting, and sets nursing standards for patient care. Assesses professional growth of employees and managers. Identifies needs and develops provisions to meet educational goals, utilizing internal and external educational resources. Hires, counsels, and evaluates the performance of managers, and employees. Offers assistance with recruitment of new employees as necessary. Develops yearly goals and objectives in collaboration with employees, managers and physicians. Responsible for and oversees department budgets and assigned functions are in compliance with all applicable local, state, federal and accrediting agency regulations. Initiates corrective actions as necessary. Responsible for the direction and evaluation of acute care nursing managers. Works with assigned managers and employees to establish policies and procedures, goals and objectives of the departments. Approves and resolves departmental problems as needed.

VP of Nursing is a split position between Hampshire Memorial Hospital, Romney, WV and War Memorial Hospital, Berkeley Springs, WV.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Masters Prepared

* Master of Science in Nursing/Equivalent degree

* Current West Virginia licensure as a Registered Nurse.

* 5 to 7 years of progressive, healthcare management experience required in an integrated healthcare environment. Proven experience and success with development and implementation of patient care delivery systems.

* Knowledge of the principles of the human growth and development their application to the various Scopes of Services in the Nursing Division.
